How This Directory Works

Finding a Business

You can browse the directory three ways:

• By category (Builders, Restaurants, Auto Service, etc.) on the directory home page.
• By city (Kalispell, Whitefish, Polson, etc.).
• By city + category combination, for example "Builders in Whitefish" or "Restaurants in Polson," with their own pages and URLs.

Each listing includes a profile page with the business's full contact information, services offered, location (where the business chooses to share it), photos when available, and a way to contact the business or share its profile.

What a Listing Shows

A typical profile page shows:

• Business name, short description, and full description as written by the business.
• Categories and trust signals the business has self-identified (locally owned, family owned, veteran owned).
• Phone number, email, website, and social media links.
• Service area: which Flathead Valley communities the business serves.
• Address and a map, if the business chose to display them.
• Logo, hero image, and gallery photos.
• The date the listing was last verified, when applicable.

Contacting a Business

Every profile page has direct phone and website links so you can reach the business the way they prefer. There is also a "Contact Business" form that sends a message to the business through the directory. The business owner sees your message in their dashboard and can reply directly to your email.

Messages sent through the directory are not visible to the public. Granite Ridge Realty does not read messages between you and a business unless flagged for review.

Accuracy

Listing information is submitted by the business owner or an authorized representative. Granite Ridge Realty reviews submissions for compliance with our Listing Guidelines, but we do not independently verify business names, addresses, hours, services, licensing, insurance, or pricing. Information may be incomplete or out of date.

If you find a mistake on a listing, use the "Report inaccurate info" link on the profile page. We review reports and follow up with the business owner.

Adding Your Business

To list your business:

1. Visit the submit page and create an account using your business email.
2. Fill out the listing form: name, description, contact details, categories, location, photos.
3. Confirm the certifications at the bottom of the form (accuracy, content compliance, agreement to terms).
4. Submit. Your listing enters the review queue.

There is no cost to be listed. You can save and return to a draft if you don't have all the information at once.

Review Process

Every listing is reviewed by a person before it appears in the directory. The review takes 1 to 3 business days. We check for:

• Compliance with our Listing Guidelines, especially the rules about discriminatory or steering language.
• Plausibility of the business as a real, operating local entity.
• Quality of categorization (right category, reasonable service area).
• Photo and content rights (we may remove images that look likely to violate copyright).

If your listing is approved, you will get an email and it will appear in the directory. If we have questions or need changes, we will reach out. If we cannot publish the listing, we will explain why.

Editing a Listing

You can edit your listing from your account dashboard at any time. Edits to a published listing return it to the review queue. The previously approved version of your listing may remain visible until the new version is reviewed and approved.

How Listings Are Ordered

Listings on category and city pages appear in alphabetical order by business name. There is no ranking, scoring, or rating. There are no paid placements at this time. Read more about our ordering rules in the Listing Guidelines.

Privacy Controls

If you operate from a home office or otherwise prefer not to display your full street address, you can choose to:

• Display your full address and a precise map pin.
• Display only the city and a city-level map pin.
• Display no location information at all.

The "Get Directions" button only appears on listings with a full street address.

When Listings Are Removed

Listings can be removed for several reasons:

• The business owner unpublishes or deletes the listing themselves.
• A report or moderation review identifies an issue we cannot resolve.
• The business has closed.
• A copyright holder submits a valid takedown notice (see our DMCA process).
• A listing has gone inactive long enough that we consider it stale.

Removed listings can sometimes be restored. Contact us if a listing was removed in error or if you want to bring back a closed business that has reopened.
